What to Expect:
Our journey begins 4 kilometers southeast of Siem Reap in Chreav Village. Once considered a distant area, the construction of the ring road has brought it closer to the city, yet it retains its traditional charm and the unhurried rhythm of daily life.
Here, we’ll take a gentle 30-minute walk through the village, allowing you to soak in the local atmosphere. We’ll visit the local school (if open), experience the vibrant energy of the market, and perhaps even sample some delicious local snacks.
Continuing our ride, we’ll pedal towards the sprawling rice paddies (approximately 6km). Keep your eyes peeled for water buffalo grazing peacefully, cows meandering through the fields, and a variety of local birdlife. This is a perfect opportunity to capture stunning photographs of the quintessential Cambodian landscape.
Our next stop is a local Monastery (another 6km). Here, your knowledgeable guide will illuminate the fascinating differences between the Hindu and Buddhist religions, both deeply woven into Cambodia’s cultural fabric. You’ll also gain insight into the daily lives and work of the monks.
As we continue our exploration (around 3km), we’ll arrive at a serene lotus field. Depending on the season, you may witness these beautiful flowers in bloom and even have the chance to taste some of their refreshing fruits.
Finally, we’ll enjoy a relaxing 8km ride back to your hotel, filled with lasting memories of the Cambodian countryside.
